3. Understanding the link between skin issues and histamine
Many of the causes of skin issues (SIBO, candida, gluten, food intolerances) cause an immune response in the body, which triggers the release of inflammatory cytokines and histamine. The histamine stimulates the histamine receptors on the skin causing eczema, dermatitis, hives and acne.
4. Getting your diet right
One size does not fit all when it comes to dietary requirements to heal skin conditions. Some people simply need to avoid gluten, whereas others need to avoid the foods that are causing SIBO (FODMAPs), or high oxalate foods with oxalate toxicity as well as high histamine foods whilst the causes are being addressed.
